In these sessions, participants will
build a baseline and understanding of issues and concepts pertaining to:
  • racism, anti-Black racisms, equity and inclusions.
  • the value of using the inclusion lens
  • conscious and unconscious bias and how this affects our interactions, preferences and decisions
  • what authentic and active Allyship looks like, requires, and how to work in solidarity with equity-seeking communities

Session 1: Anti-Racism 101 – September 23, 2021 from 7:00PM – 8:00PM

This is a foundational session to build a baseline understanding of issues and concepts pertaining to racism, anti-Black racism, equity, and inclusion.

Learning objectives include:

  • Deepen understanding of racism from a systemic and individual perspective
  • Increase understanding of the experiences and impact of racial microaggressions and discrimination

Session 2: Using an Equity and Inclusion Lens – October 14, 2021 from 7:00PM – 8:00PM

In this session, employees and managers will learn about the value of using Equity and Inclusion lens to create a more meaningful experience for clients and consumers.

Learning objective include:

  • Understand what an inclusion and equity lens is as a leadership tool and perspective
  • Explore the impact of inequality

Session 3: Unconscious Bias – November 11, 2021 from 7:00PM – 8:00PM

In this session, participants will learn about Conscious and Unconscious Bias and how this affects our interactions, preferences and decisions.

Learning objective includes:

  • Introduction to the concepts of conscious and unconscious bias
  • Explore different types of bias
  • Understand the impact of bias

Session 4: Allyship in Action – December 2, 2021 from 7:00PM – 8:00PM

In this session, participants will learn about what authentic and active allyship looks like, requires and how to work in solidarity with equity-seeking communities.

Learning objective includes:

  • Building a clear understanding and definition of the authentic and active Allyship
  • The three A’s of Allyship
  • Learn best practices for authentic Allyship and how to avoid the performative Allyship trap
